Postcard from... The Olde Bell at Hurley

I hope you had a fabulous Easter.  If you're a regular reader here at Design Hunter you may remember me gushing about a lovely old coaching inn we stayed at when we attended at wedding back in November.  It's not every day you're lucky enough to stay somewhere that you really can't fault, so when we were trying to figure out what to do for our wedding anniversary this weekend it took us probably all of two minutes to decide to treat ourselves to a weekend break at another inn that has undergone the Ilse Crawford treatment.

Albert was duly despatched to stay with our nice neighbours and their rather elderly Lurcher, and we headed off for The Olde Bell in Hurley, near Henley on Thames.  It didn't disappoint.  In fact the only disappointing thing about the weekend was that I forget to take my camera so had to resort to taking these pictures with my mobile phone.

The accommodation at The Olde Bell has a touch of Arts and Crafts about it, brought bang up to date with well considered interior design.  It's the sort of place where you instantly feel comfortable and looked after.  The rooms are fabulous, the food is top notch and the service is great.  If you're looking for a wedding venue within easy travelling distance of London I highly recommend it.  The whole place is so exquisitely styled that it hardly needs any further decoration.  For a Spring wedding I'd opt for simple, understated jars of Muscari, Tulips or Paperwhites.   If you're getting married in the summertime, Hydrangeas would look fabulous.
