How was your New Year's Eve? Did you do something fun to celebrate? I had a great festive season but am always glad to get back into the regular rhythm of things once the holidays are over. The house looks so bare once the Christmas tree and decorations have been taken down and put away for another year, but at the same time I'm glad to get rid of all the shiny sparkly stuff and try to restore the house to the semblance of clutter free minimalist order that I aspire to. A few bulbs will brighten the place up while we wait for the whole garden cycle thing to kick off again outside with the first snowdrops and crocuses. I love these simple but pretty decorating ideas with amaryllis, hyacinths and orchids from this lovely home (via Automatism).
You may notice that I've made some more changes to the site design. I've tweaked the colours and fonts so many times in the last few months that if you've been following the blog for a while you may wonder what on earth is going on. The truth is that the old colours and font just didn't really reflect me and I wanted to start the new year off by giving the blog a more authentic feel. I want it to feel familiar and comfortable so I've replicated some of the exact colours that I've decorated our home with, colours that I live with and love every day.
