Postcard from... 78 Derngate
Tuesday, March 15, 2011
It was my birthday at the weekend and we decided to visit 78 Derngate, a modest Georgian terraced house in Northampton that was outlandishly remodelled by Charles Rennie Mackintosh in1917. If you're in the area I really recommend a visit. I'd never been to Northampton and whilst it isn't an obvious visitor destination I was surprised to find quite a number of interesting old industrial and art deco style buildings in the town.
It goes without saying that cake was consumed.
Note that I am proudly wearing my new Danish clog boots - my best ebay purchase ever at the outrageous price of 99p!!!
