Postcard from.... Suffolk

We took off on what Mr P likes to call one of our 'spontaneous holidays' for a couple of days this week and headed for the Suffolk coast.

I didn't take any pictures of the beach huts at Southwold because I still haven't got round to posting the images I took of the (much nicer) ones at Wells-next-the-sea earlier this year. Also, because it was absolutely rammed and I was on the verge of throwing a tantrum after turning up without a campsite reservation during one of the busiest weeks of the year proved more problematic than the ever optimistic Mr P had imagined. Luckily, it all came good in the end as some friends came to our rescue and let us camp in their field, cooked us a fabulous dinner and even forgave Albert for stealing a chicken breast. (Thanks Bill & Deborah).

We woke up here the next morning...
...explored a lovely old church nearby where we discovered some whippet heraldry...

... and then headed off for a windswept walk along Sizewell beach to blow the cobwebs out of our heads.

Don't let the nuclear power station put you off - it's a great beach!
