A new boutique hotel at the heart of Tel Aviv's UNESCO White City, is breathing new life into an eclectic old 1920s building. The Alma Hotel and Lounge in an exquisite listed building that dates back to 1925 has 15 individually designed deluxe rooms and studio suites - each telling a story that alludes to the building's bohemian past.
The building has been passionately restored and given an opulent identity by architecture and interior design studio Shaltiel Kastiel in collaboration with mosaic and glass artist Lauri Recanati. The rooms are decorated with an eclectic mix of heavily embellished vintage furniture and more contemporary pieces.
Bulgari products can be found in the lavish, romantically inspired bathrooms.
The Lounge is a bohemian mix of Georgian inspired furniture, 21st century colour and local contemporary art. The hotel and restaurant is the latest addition to the portfolio of brother and sister team, Adi and Irit Strauss, who have created three of Israel's most celebrated restaurants.
