British crafts at Fortnum & Mason
Fortnum and Mason is marking the Queen's diamond jubilee and supporting excellence in British craft with a new exhibition celebrating handmade crafts created by Queen Elizabeth Scholarship Trust scholars. Thirty two QEST scholars are presenting their crafts for sale until until the end of July.
I particularly love these 'Imari-Shuffle' plates by Peter Ting, created from Royal Crown Derby motifs that have been 'shuffled' to present a series of mixed images - in the same way as a DJ might mix sounds to create a new expression. Each piece is unique, and is signed and dated by the artist.
