Silent Cargo

HOLY is a monumental wooden candlestick carved from a single piece of wood by London born architect and designer Anki Gneib

Eirik V Johnsen and Kristian Pohl, the quiet suited gentlemen of artistic collective SX-70 Europe, were challenged by the designer to transport the enormous candlesticks from their place of manufacture in the woods of Sorvi Pojat in Finland to her studio in Stockholm. The result is a striking series of images that challenges our perception of scale and forces us to look at objects designed for a domestic interior in a different way by placing them into an unfamiliar context.

You can view their journey as they transport these large unwieldy objects across different landscapes here.
