Wabi inspirations

I'm feeling inspired by all things Japanese at the moment. I love how these images from the beautiful book Wabi Inspirations by Axel Vervoordt have an almost painterly quality, perfectly conveying the mellow timeworn aesthetic of these interiors.
There's something quite spiritual, almost monastic, about these spaces. Although traditional, they have a simple, imperfect rustic beauty that feels quite contemporary.

we have this beautiful book too, it's one of our favourites.
I'm not surprised to hear that you like this book. Your beautiful furniture would fit perfectly into one of these interiors.
Very sleek and sophisticated. I blogged once about Vervoordt's chalet in the Swiss mountains and this reminds me of his interior styling there. Great!
Just got the- book today it is amazing- right up my street!
