Ties to Treasure

Wandering around London's Lambs Conduit Street last week I popped into Darkroom where I discovered and admired these exquisite ties. They are from the debut collection by Marwood and are made from traditional English lace from one of the country's last remaining lace makers.

The Marwood view on neckties is that a tie is a man's opportunity to stamp his style. "It is so easy to get the wrong necktie and so hard to simply find the right one," says Becky French who founded Marwood in 2010.

I can't help thinking how perfect these would be for a wedding, but equally I am sure they would be much appreciated if you just wanted to treat your other half to something extra special. They are definitely ties to treasure.

Here's a preview of their SS13 collection, the result of a collaboration with artist Toni Davey whose beautiful designs were interpreted into woven jacquards.

The lookbook was shot by Ali Mobasser (his work is also definitely worth checking out).

Available online at www.marwoodlondon.co.uk (and also from Liberty and Mr Porter).
