Pulley lamps by Studio WM

Yes, more pastels. There definitely seems to be a bit of a theme going on here lately after this and this.

Wendy Legro and Maarten Collignon of Studio WM have produced a range of glass and porcelain pulley lamps in soft, fresh pastel hues. Inpired by the pulley systems used in the shipyards of Rotterdam, where the duo are based, the range plays with optical illusions of lightness and weight.

The shades are made from hand-blown glass and feature a subtle gradient that fades from coloured opaque to transparent. Custom coloured yarn is braided onto the electrical cord to help create the impression that the light is 'floating'.

They're available in porcelain too. I love the pastels but for a more industrial vibe they also come in black.
