Living in... Wolf & Badger

A couple of weeks ago I popped into Wolf and Badger in Mayfair, just along from Dover Street Market. I've long admired the online store, and its mission of supporting independent design talent and promoting new generation and unique fashion, jewellery, accessories and interiors products, so I was curious to see what the flagship store, which opened last year, had to offer.

At a time when so many shops are struggling to survive and people are questioning the future of bricks and mortar retail, this is a pretty good example of how to do it right. The staff are genuinely friendly and welcoming and you'll want to linger to soak up the creative atmosphere of the sleek monochrome interior, designed by Augustus Brown. Downstairs there's a gallery space that hosts pop-up fashion, art, food, music and design events.

The shop's location in the heart of Mayfair might lead you to assume that everything is unattainably priced.... not so. Although Mr P was tempted to blow a fairly hefty sum on a new jacket (the men's fashion section has some interesting contemporary cuts), a pair of earrings caught my eye at just £29. Some of the homeware pieces are also reasonably priced.

Worth seeking out as a destination in its own right, the store effortlessly mixes fashion with home and lifestyle products to create the kind of seductive and immersive retail environment that you just don't want to leave.

Can I move in please?
