Safari style meets industrial chic & wabi sabi

The new collection from French Connection caught my eye this week and I like it a lot. With a simple colour palette of white, black and neutrals it's all about texture and material - bleached unfinished woods, tactile hand crafted glass, woven zinc and natural fibres like jute, leather and cotton.

It melds together industrial influences (metal anglepoise lighting and ladder shelving) with a softer wabi sabi style aesthetic (sandblasted artisan ridge patterned glass and simple rough finished wooden coffee tables and benches). There's also a campaign style safari chair, stylishly worked in wood, canvas and suede, which along with the glassware, I particularly like.

These grid stitched linen cushion covers are an absolute bargain at £13.50 (reduced from £45) and, since cushions are a particular weakness of mine and I never can resist a quick sofa update, I think they might just have my name on them.
