Design Hunter loves...
...the abstract patterns, sophisticated colours and tactility of Patricia Urquiola's curtain and upholstery collection for Danish textile brand Kvadrat.
The collection is characterised by abstract patterns which create a sense of irregularity. This apparent randomness in the design is combined with a certain order and continuity within the textile production process itself.
Matrix (above) is reminiscent of the detailing on a computer motherboard. Its smooth surface creates an elegant play of light and dark colour shades.
Drops (below) is a tactile design in which woven drops slightly protrude from the surface of the stripes and appear to 'flow' over the textile.
