Treat Yourself

So we've nearly managed to get through the first month of the year which definitely deserves a pat on the back. Thankfully, for most of us, the first payday of the year has arrived and to celebrate I thought I would pick out some of my favourite finds to help brighten the final days of January.

1. I recently discovered the Australian beauty brand Aēsop and I'm already a fan of the products. Made from plant and laboratory-based ingredients, the skin and body care is brimming with antioxidant properties and comes in fab retro-style packaging. While on the pricey side, the Reverence Aromatique Hand Balm is perfect for spoiling winter-parched skin.

2. If you've exhausted all your Christmas box sets and want to keep yourself entertained this winter, turn back time and play a traditional board game. I love this wooden domino set, which I wood definitely take with me on a winter weekend break.

3. While spring still seems a long way away the new season stock has started to filter into shops and online. The Jacquard knit Inka blanket from Danish brand Ferm Living is my pick from its spring/summer collection.

4. It's the time of year for planning holidays and I love the unique travel guides from Herb Lester Associates. The beautifully illustrated maps cover a range of destinations in Europe, the States and Japan and make unique souvenirs or gifts for globetrotting friends.

5. A stylish winter hat is an investment buy and this pure wool beanie from Jigsaw is both practical and sartorially pleasing.

6. An affordable designer piece is the perfect antidote to the winter blues and these quirky cat and dog mugs by ceramist Jonathan Adler add a bit of fun to your morning brew.
