Winter Fragrance

It’s amazing how evocative scent can be. One whiff of cinnamon and cloves and I start to get giddy about Christmas. If it’s still too early for you to embark on putting up decorations then one guaranteed way to transform your home into a festive wonderland is with candles or diffusers.

Here I’ve rounded up my favourite Christmas fragrances that are perfect for a pre-Christmas treat or a thoughtful gift.

Gold details add a sophisticated touch to your festive décor and this Enchanted Woodland scented candle looks and smells divine.

If you want to blow the budget but ooze in the design stakes treat yourself to a Fornasetti candle. The Silenzio features notes of thyme, lavender and cedarwood and is encased in a ceramic vessel that will make a stylish addition to your mantlepiece.

There’s something incredibly chic about Bella Freud so her Signature candle, which smells of smoked incense and wood, makes a perfect gift for fashionable friends.

For an understated look I love the packaging of this Amber candle from Laboratory Perfumes. The fragrance is far from simple though and evokes notes of wood, citrus and cardamom making it a modern festive option.

This set of three candles from Jo Loves makes a lovely present although I would be tempted to keep it for myself! Burn alone or combine the trio for a unique fragrance.

Another trio that caught my eye is the Christmas offering from French fragrance masters Diptyque. My favourite scent of the three is Épice but they all smell equally divine.

As someone who loves the combination of cloves, cinnamon and nutmeg, the Bois d’Épicerie Chromatic Trilogy candle from Miller Harris is right up my street.

Create a calming atmosphere at home this Christmas with the Christmas Wish scented candle collection from Neom Organics made from 100% natural fragrance.

The White Company is my go-to for wonderfully scented candles and fragrance and it comes into its own at Christmas time. The Winter collection includes candles of various sizes and a diffuser which makes a lovely gift.

If candles aren’t your thing then consider a room spray to add a seasonal fragrance to your home. The traditional orange and cinnamon scent of this Christmas spray by True Grace makes it a classic option.
