Summer style | cool blues & easy neutrals (& win a pendant light from Urbanara)
Although I rarely dress the bed in anything other than white bed linen, at this time of year when the nights are warm I often find myself drawn to blue. Alongside its soothing, cooling qualities, its associations with Aegean blue seas and summer skies are somehow harder to resist when you are demob happy in anticipation of heading off on holiday.
Blue and white is a classic summer combination and this cotton quilt from Urbanara featuring a jacquard woven Japanese fan motif is a nice option for a summer bedroom update, and one that would look great set off against neutral and wood tones.
Urbanara is an online brand that sells ethically sourced home textiles and accessories crafted from natural materials. I had the opportunity to check out some of their products during Clerkenwell Design Week recently and was impressed with what I saw. When I first came across them a couple of years ago their collection focused mainly on textiles but it's great to see that they have since then expanded their range of home accessories to also include tableware, vases, art and even lighting. The lighting in particular is well worth a look, and accessibly priced too. I really like the clean, contemporary feel of this Ales pendant light. It's one of a series of designs created from curved strands of wood, and Urbanara is offering Design Hunter readers the chance to win one in our latest giveaway.
To be in with a chance of winning an Ales pendant light from Urbanara (worth £135) all you have to do is enter your details using the entry link below.
