Sunday Lie In | Ocean Blue
Ever since we painted the wall in the bedroom a darker shade last month I've been looking for a few new linen and accessory updates to pull everything together. Now that we are down to just a few hours of light each day the room had started to feel a little gloomy and, diehard lover of monochrome as I am, I had to admit it was in need of an injection of colour to lift things.
With its rich ocean blue tones and subtle palm print design this bed linen set from Christy does the job perfectly. There's something almost jewel like about the rich aquamarine colour. It really comes alive next to this brass tray and feels perfect for winter, but in summertime it will look bright, breezy, fresh and tropical.
To dress the bed, and provide a layer of contrast between the pillows and the dark blue walls, I've added a lovely textured white throw and Loops pillowshams, also by Christy.
I love how the cotton jacquard catches the light to illuminate the palm frond motif.
So the bedroom is now looking much more cheerful. We just need to update the pendant light. At the moment we have a perfectly functional but rather uninspiring charcoal grey drum shade. This is my dream light for the bedroom. We already have the same design above the dining table in the living room, but after discovering that they are also available in metallic finishes I've been desperately coveting another.
The Christy Palm Fronds bed linen is available here, but later in the week I'll be revealing details of how you can win a set here on Design Hunter. I'm excited to announce that this is just one of a number of advent giveaways Design Hunter will be running this year, so please do pop back later in the week to find out more. I'll also be announcing the details on Twitter and Instagram.
Meanwhile I'll be cosying up with my new bed linen and dreaming of palm trees and tropical seas.
