Articles of daily use - #7 Polygon watch by Chi and Chi
Few objects reveal our personal taste and who we aspire to be quite so tellingly as a watch. I'll leave it to others to decide for themselves what my Chi and Chi Polygon watch* from Twisted Time says about me, but perhaps it's a statement of my desire to be free of clutter. My home might not always live up to the exacting standards of the Polygon's clean pared down white dial and beautifully minimalist form, but when I fasten it onto my wrist and step out of the door wearing it I can at least feel as if I'm imposing some of its neatness and precise geometry on a little corner of the universe.
There's more to it than that though. I love the plainness of the leather strap and the fact that the case is pleasingly tactile and multi faceted rather than uniformly round, encouraging me to run my fingers around it in exploration of its distinctive edges.
As the designers themselves put it - not all the edges in life need to be smoothed out. Sometimes it's the edges which make one person different from another.
What does your watch say about you?
