A look back at 2015
Hello again and happy new year everyone.
I completely unplugged from blogging and social media over the Christmas holidays (sometimes it's good to take a break), and have been slowly easing myself back to work with lots of tea, procrastination and list writing. 2015 was a pretty good year, so before I launch into January here (rather belatedly) is a look back at a few of my highlights from the past twelve months - some favourite posts, instagram captures, holidays, events and collaborations.
In January we attended the BMW i Wallpaper Awards 2015 at Bonhams in London, and were chauffered home in style courtesy of BMW.
In February I teamed up with Muji to style their new shelving system.
March saw Design Hunter featured in The Elle Decoration Directory. I am always thankful when anyone is kind enough to say they enjoy reading Design Hunter, but as Elle Decoration has been one of my favourite magazines for many years, I was particularly honoured to be mentioned by a publication I love and admire so much.
July was the month when I finally made it to the Alexander McQueen show 'Savage Beauty' at the V&A, and it was one of the most profoundly beautiful and moving shows I've ever been to.
In August, we spent a couple of days exploring the changes taking place at Greenwich Peninsula - we tried out the new Craft by Tom Dixon restaurant, enjoyed the Phoebe English exhibition at the Now Gallery, and spent the night in a Tom Dixon designed penthouse with the most incredible views out across to Canary Wharf.
We also did something I've long wanted to do. We hired a camper van and took a road trip around the Scottish Highlands. Having a dog means that we often holiday in the UK so that he can come with us, and it's fair to say Albert had a wonderful time. I've been lucky enough to visit Scotland many times, but having the freedom to just pitch up wherever and whenever we wanted made this trip extra special, and we are already planning to do it all over again (with an alternative route) this year.
September was London Design Festival month. Highlights for me were The Art of Progress at 19 Greek Street, Michael Anastassiades at the Aram Store and the launch of the new Serif TV by the Bouroullec Brothers at Somerset House.
Sophie Ashby of Studio Ashby wrote a great post highlighting some of the trends from LDF. I'll be looking out for terrazzo in 2016 as I predict this is a material we'll definitely be seeing a lot more of this year.
In September I began working with Samsung Home Appliances as a brand ambassador. I'm currently testing out an amazing new product from them that I absolutely love and will be reviewing it on the blog soon.
I rounded off the year by working with some of my favourite brands in December. I made festive canapés with Samsung Home Appliances, styled my Christmas table with John Lewis and shared my thoughts on better thinking with Parker Pens.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who stopped by to visit Design Hunter in 2015 and to the many people who emailed, left comments and connected with me on social media. I hope you'll join me again in 2016. I'm resolving to post more on Instagram this year and I'm also planning to post the occasional update on Snapchat - I'm at designhunter_uk if you'd like to follow me over there too.
Wishing you all a very happy and healthy new year.
