3 ways to style your bedroom this winter

Sleep | John Lewis

This week I've been busy giving the bedroom a quick autumn refresh - laundering the duvet and pillows, tidying up my dressing table and adding a lovely new merino wool throw to the bed ahead of winter. I've been waking up early since the clocks went back earlier this month so I'm hoping that making the bedroom a little nicer will help me to have a better night's sleep.

When we decided that we needed a new mattress a while back John Lewis was the first place we headed to, and after a little shopping around, it was where we ultimately ended up buying one from. The staff were incredibly knowledgeable and helpful without being pushy, and our local store was a really nice environment in which we could relax and take as much time as we needed to try out different options without feeling as if we were being pressurised into making a purchase. Plus John Lewis has pretty much everything you could need for the home under one roof, so we ended up getting a new duvet and pillows too. They have really upped their game in the Home department this year. I featured their Design Project collection recently and today I wanted to show you the 3 key looks they are presenting for the bedroom this season - Scandi, Fusion and Boutique Hotel.

The Scandi Collection

The Scandi collection is full of contemporary yet timeless pieces. Tactile materials and cosy materials create a welcoming mood while furniture pieces are clean lined with a hint towards classic mid-century design like this beautiful ercol oak bed frame.

The Fusion Collection

The Fusion looks embraces a graphic, mostly monochrome look with hints of saffron and lapis blue. This eclectic globally influenced collection includes richly grained wooden furniture and is accented with lustrous metals and wicker. The subtly patterned Isra rug is one of my favourite pieces.

The Boutique Hotel Collection

Opulent textures and materials create refined elegance and hotel glamour in the Boutique Hotel collection. I love the linear chevron pattern and lustrous finish on this frost bedspread.

It's no secret that I love the warm minimalism of pared back Scandi style but I also like to add a slightly more luxe feel to the bedroom - soft, smooth sheets, a generous dressing of pillows and throws and lots of tactile textures - so I'm probably most drawn to a style somewhere between Scandi and Boutique Hotel.
