Show and Tell | August
The late summer weather has been so nice, but I'm starting to get ready for autumn with this lovely geometric throw from Hay and a new seasonal scented candle from The White Company. We've been spending our evenings watching 'Stranger Things' on Netflix - completely gripping and a total 80s nostalgia-fest. Have you seen it yet?
In my wardrobe
We ate at the recently refurbished Harvey Nichols store in Birmingham at the weekend. The restaurant is beautifully designed and with a menu designed by Glyn Purnell the food is great too. If you're visiting Birmingham I'd definitely recommend it.
In the kitchen
I made this roasted cauliflower, cheddar and grape salad. A couple of people asked me how to make it when I posted this on Instagram. The recipe is from Ottolenghi's excellent book Plenty More, which I cook from all the time, but it's basically roasted cauliflower mixed with the following ingredients (which are added after you've removed the cauliflower from the oven and transferred it to a serving dish):
- A dressing of olive oil, honey, Dijon mustard and sherry vinegar (I use red wine vinegar instead).
- Some lightly toasted some hazelnuts - crush these with a pestle and mortar.
- Some grated cheddar, chopped grapes and chopped flat leaf parsley.
The heart shaped stoneware dish* is from The White Company.
I wrote a guest post on How to choose a rug to suit the style and décor of your home over at The Rug Seller - I love this cotton and wool mix diamond design.
And I was hugely excited to be featured in Domino magazine's round up of 26 design instagrams to get lost in this weekend. What amazing company to be in! A big thank you to the team at Domino for including me.
