Autumn sofa updates from The Lounge Co
Although the long warm days of August are continuing to stretch into September this year it won't be too long before the nights start drawing in and our thoughts turn to cosy evenings at home. And at this time of year I always start thinking about updates I want to make around the home for the colder months ahead - from candles, throws and decorative touches to new lighting or furniture. The new season home collections are continuing to land in my inbox and today I'm focusing on sofas. A new name you may not yet have heard of is The Lounge Co. Aiming to offer a range of comfortable, covetable and contemporary pieces the brand launched earlier this month with a 24 piece collection designed and manufactured in the UK.
The concept seeks to blend the price accessibility of buying online with the geographical accessibility of a bricks and mortar store. Most of us would probably prefer to try a sofa out before investing in one online, so alongside a clean and easy to navigate website they also have 21 'galleries' based within existing independent furniture stores where customers can experience the brand first hand by viewing in-store installations and experimenting with interactive moodboards to bring their living room vision to life.
The collection includes deep loungey sofas and a range of accent chairs in contrasting styles that will work alongside them - ideal for creating a cosy reading nook to curl up in with your favourite magazine. The Thomas (top picture above) is a comfy contemporary twist on a classic wing chair while the Noah (below) with its 50 styling will add a retro edge to your living room.
When it comes to colour and fabric, a wide range of options are available - more than 110 in total. Fabrics include tweedy weaves, cotton linens, crushed velvets and soft woven chenilles, with some designs also available in leather.
I particularly like the range of stylish and versatile footstools. These are available in interesting graphic patterns as well as in bright accent colours. Perfect for putting your feet up at the end of a long day (or for using as extra seating when it's needed), they are also a great way to add a splash of colour, a textural contrast or a touch of print to your living room. The Taylor footstool even has built in storage, for all those bits and bobs you want to hide out of sight.
If you need a helping hand in choosing the right one The Lounge Co has a handy sofa guide designed to help you find the right design, whether your looking for a sofa to suit a small space or one that can accommodate the whole family.
