Escape to summer | bath and body treats for home and away
Have you booked your summer holiday yet? We’ve had a particularly busy few months since Christmas and so with the warmer weather approaching we are most definitely feeling ready to escape somewhere.
As well as deciding where to go, one of the best things about planning a summer break is treating yourself to a few new bits and pieces to pack in your suitcase and take away with you, and The White Company is one of the brands I always turn to. Their Holiday Shop has some lovely pieces in stock at the moment - I'm already eyeing up a silk maxi dress and imagining myself slipping into it after a tough day lying by the pool in the South of France.
It's also nice to treat yourself to a new wash bag or beach towel and perhaps a few pampering bath and body treats, so I'm thrilled to have teamed up with The White Company to share an edit of some of the things I'll be packing to take with me when we head off on our summer holiday in a couple of month's time.
For me, one of the best things about visiting beautiful hotels on holidays and short breaks is the interiors inspiration. To escape from our usual routine we checked into the lovely No 38 The Park in Cheltenham for a weekend away while we plan a little further ahead to a longer break in the summer. And when I discovered that the rooms there have the most amazing bathrooms it seemed like the perfect place to shoot today's edit.
Our bathroom at home is quite small, so to be able to spread out in this amazing space was such a treat. Even though we can't quite accommodate a tub on this scale at home I do always like to make sure that our bathroom is stocked with lovely bath linens. Think soft white towels, fresh cotton waffle robes and spa slippers, all of which will add instant feelgood factor to even the most tired and dated of bathrooms.
This summer I'll be packing my bath and skincare essentials in this slubby linen wash bag, which is roomy enough to accommodate everything I'll need for a ten day trip. There's a matching smaller bag available too - perfect for popping in your handbag or beach bag.
If you like the scent of eucalyptus (I adore it and often have a huge vase of eucalyptus foliage at home) then The White Company's Spa Restore collection is well worth checking out. The bath salts are both heady and refreshing. The invigorating blend of neroli, geranium and eucalyptus revives weary muscles while the salts nourish and gently scent your skin. If you prefer an oil to salts the Spa Relax bath oil, which uses essential oils and a pure natural base, is blissfully cooling, calming and relaxing.
I'm also tempted to pack this lavender pillow mist as a little home from home treat. I love to spray it on my pillow just before I go to bed and the summery scent of lavender, basil and Sicilian lemon really does capture the essence of the Mediterranean.
Lightweight and perfect for the beach or pool these super soft hammam towels are simple and stylish. Before I'm ready for a bikini I'll definitely be giving my tired post winter skin a little extra TLC though. I'm looking forward to trying out this Spa Relax Super Glow Body Polish which is designed to leave skin looking smooth, healthy and more radiant. I'll be opting for some help in the fake tan department too.
And then with my favourite shades, a sun hat and perhaps a linen shirt dress or two I'll be good to go.
