The Autumn Winter 2019 collection from Ferm Living
As summer draws to an end and the shift in the seasons approaches there is always the arrival of the new season collections to look forward to. Ferm Living consistently deliver up both products and images that leap out at me and this autumn’s collection is no exception.
A love of nature, handicrafts and recycled materials are recurring themes in their Autumn/Winter 19 collection which celebrates ‘the earth and people, the calm and serene and the space we call home in the midst of an ever-changing world’.
I’m drawing lots of inspiration from the soft beige and rich brown tones featured here. These are colours I’ve found myself increasingly drawn to recently. I’ve opted for a similar palette for our new kitchen and I’m sure it won’t be too long before they find their way into other areas of our home too.
Colours always have an emotional resonance and these particular shades feel earthy and grounding rather than fickle and faddy. I’m totally on board with that - I think it’s probably what we all need right now.
The soft organic shapes seem particularly at one with these colours and the much instagrammed Shell vase has echoes of the fibonacci sequence - the ‘golden ratio’ often found in the natural world.
Which pieces catch your eye?
