10 of the best wall mounted bathroom taps

With a new bathroom makeover project on the horizon we’ve been researching taps, and more specifically wall mounted taps designed for basins.
Wall mounted taps, as opposed to the surface mounted variety, are the perfect partner to complement contemporary wash bowls, as there’s no requirement for them to be fixed onto the bowl itself. They’re also easier to clean as they have less contact with water puddles and splashes. Along with the taps themselves, the hot and cold and flow rate controls are also wall mounted (either separately or on a back plate alongside the taps) to keep everything looking pared back and simple. Much of the functional plumbing is hidden so a little more thought needs to be applied at the design and installation stage – including secure fixings, tiling issues and potential access to the wall cavity containing the concealed plumbing in case maintenance is required. You’ll probably want to talk to your plumber about these issues beforehand so that you can identify any potential issues or problems.
Taps are essentially the ‘functional jewellery’ of any bathroom interior, often setting the tone for the rest of the space. We’ve noticed a current trend for designs harking back to the principles of the early modern style – think form follows function with a refined simplicity. As with all taps, wall mounted designs come in a range of styles and finishes – with brass, copper, rose gold, brushed stainless steel and matt black offering welcome alternatives to traditional shiny chrome. We’ve picked out 10 options across a range of different price points.
