Colourful sound at home with Urbanears

I’m not someone who usually listens to music when I’m writing so I really look forward to the days when I’m shooting in the studio, rather than working at my desk, because it means that I get to listen to music, and catch on my favourite podcasts while I work.

This is the new Stammen speaker* from Scandinavian collective Urbanears, who you probably know for their colourful headphones. They’ve just launched a collection of stylishly minimal speakers in six different colours ranging from ‘Dirty Pink’ to ‘Indigo Blue’ and ‘Plant Green’ (which fits in perfectly with the current interiors obsession with all things plant related). I opted for ‘Concrete Grey’ but it was hard to choose because the other colours really are lovely. Do check out interior stylist Fanny Hamlin’s colour and styling tips here.

The fabric options provide a nice way to introduce a little colour and softness into your space and the tactile dials are satisfyingly old school.

The Stammen is a neat but powerful speaker designed for mid-sized rooms like bedrooms or living rooms. It’s accompanied in the Urbanears range by the Baggen which is aimed at those looking for a bigger sound for larger or more open plan spaces. As well as connecting them up to your favourite streaming service or using them as bluetooth speakers you can also hook them up to a turntable, so we’ll be definitely be digging out some of our favourite vinyl too.
