A modern Victorian gem in west London
Tucked behind Chiswick Park this Victorian gem has been transformed by interior designers Callender Howorth. The house was completely gutted back to the brick and brought into the 21st century with a sassy, contemporary refurb.
Above: Soft, neutral tones and a graceful Arne Jacobsen swan chair give the bedroom a serene feel.
In the hallway, a wooden console table provides an organic textural contrast beneath a reflective pendant light and statement mirror.
The open plan kitchen dining area, which leads out onto the garden, includes design classics such as the leather Barcelona chair and the Tab floor lamp by Barber Osgerby.

It's beautiful, but I can't help but wonder whether in the future we'll view these sorts of conversions the way we currently do the guttings of the 1970s. There's a history to these houses that gets lost once walls are knocked down and features removed. But yes, it looks wonderful in terms of current fashions and trends.
I love this bedroom. It's calming and very elegant. Are they storage cabinets above the TV? and are they fabric wrapped to match the wall fabric?
Thanks,
Jen
