Is the Our Place Perfect Pot as Good as It Looks? Our Review

Like many of you, I’ve admired Our Place’s Instagram-worthy cookware for ages. I was totally sold on the Always Pan the moment I saw it – sleek, multifunctional, and available in colours so lovely that you just want to leave it out on display in your kitchen. When I finally got one a couple of years ago, it didn’t disappoint. I use it almost every single day, for everything from scrambled eggs to stir-fries, and it’s held up beautifully. And given how much I love my Always Pan I was keen to expand my collection and see how the Our Place Perfect Pot measured up. Designed as an 8-in-1 multi-functional piece, the Perfect Pot promises to bake, braise, boil, roast and fry – all while saving precious cabinet space.

After a few weeks of testing, here are my thoughts.

First Impressions

From the moment I lifted it out of the box I could tell that this is a well-crafted and thoughtfully designed piece of cookware. The matte finish and gentle curves give it a luxurious, high-end look and the colour options are stunning – I went with Spice, which perfectly complements my kitchen decor. The design is sleek and modern, much like the Always Pan, and honestly, it looks so good you really will want to leave it out on your worktops.

But beyond its good looks, the Perfect Pot is packed with thoughtful features that any home cook would appreciate. From the sturdy, ergonomic handles to the no-spill pour spout and built-in strainer lid, this pot is clearly designed to make cooking easier and more enjoyable.

Versatility in the Kitchen

When it comes to functionality, the Perfect Pot promises a lot. It’s marketed as an all-in-one solution for boiling, baking, braising, frying and roasting. My Always Pan lives up to the hype, so I had high hopes the pot would do the same.

In the first week, I tried making a big pot of pumpkin soup, and the depth and size were perfect for it. It holds a little more volume than I expected, making it ideal for batch cooking. And best of all, just like the Always Pan, it comes with a built-in spoon rest on the handle! Small details like this make a huge difference, especially if you’re like me and always have a spoon lying around that inevitably makes a mess.

Cooking Performance and Heat Distribution

So far, everything I’ve made in the Perfect Pot has turned out really well. It heats evenly, which is ideal for dishes that require a steady simmer. And it’s non-stick, so I don’t have to worry about my favourite sauces sticking to the sides. Washing up is a breeze too, even with stickier meals. It’s not as heavy as a Dutch oven, which makes it easier to handle, especially when cleaning.

The Lid Design

The self-basting lid is one of the highlights for me. I love rich dishes that are full of flavour, so I often find myself hovering over the stove constantly stirring. The built-in condensation ridges effortlessly return moisture to the dish, keeping everything moist and delectable without any extra effort on my part.

It also has a built-in strainer, so I can drain pasta directly from the pot. It’s such a simple feature, but it’s surprisingly useful. When I make pasta, I just tilt the lid slightly to strain out the water.

Pros and Cons

The pot is lighter than cast iron, which has its advantages, but it’s not as durable for oven use. I’d be cautious about placing it under super-high heat, but it will handle most stovetop-to-oven recipes just fine.

The price might be a drawback for some too. It’s definitely an investment piece, but one that’s well worth considering.

Is the Perfect Pot Worth It?

In short, yes. If you’re looking for a beautiful, multifunctional pot that can handle a lot of different cooking tasks I think you’ll love it. It can go from stove to table without losing any style points and feels just as versatile as the Always Pan.

It’s particularly great if you’re short of cupboard space or have a smaller kitchen, since it can easily replace a few other items. The friendly shape, thoughtful design and ceramic nonstick coating make it a winner for me. So, if you’ve been eyeing it up and already love the Always Pan, this might just be your next favourite kitchen tool.
