Where I work…
After featuring Nina Holst’s lovely home last week I promised a glimpse behind the scenes at my own workspace, so this weekend, after giving the place a quick tidy up, I finally got round to taking a few photos.
As you can see, we have a lot of books. Probably only around half of them actually fit in the office, but I like to keep the design books within easy reach of my desk so that I can refer to them when I’m working.
One of the most recent additions to the Design Hunter library is this collection of bound back issues of World of Interiors – rescued from a library that was about to discard them!!!
The floor is painted in Skimming Stone by Farrow and Ball and the newly installed venetian blinds from Web-Blinds keep the overall feel of the room clean and light. The desk is from Made.
Graham picked up the Braun phonograph (designed by Dieter Rams) at a vintage wireless fair – we had been hunting for one for ages. The Bertoia chair was an ebay bargain.
My collection of brass bowls is growing. This one, a Tibetan singing bowl, is my favourite as it reminds me of the time I spent living in Northern India. Here it sits alongside a couple of the books I’m currently reading – Ugly by Stephen Bayley and Decorating with Style by Abigail Ahern (out this month).

We really have run out of space for books, but they are such nice things to have. I've yet to be converted to Kindle.

Aah Karl Lagerfeld's library – the benchmark against which all other book obsessions are now measured. Those pictures are indeed amazing.
