People are sometimes surprised to discover that the amazing Edwardian home Michael of 47 Park Avenue shares with his partner Jonathan and their three pups, Pugs Charlie and Oscar and Jacob the English Bulldog, is not in London (or Brooklyn) but is in fact…. in East Yorkshire.

“There is so much going on here, so much talent and drive, why shouldn’t my house be here?” he asks. So to highlight the work of some of his favourite artists and artisans from the region Michael has just launched a new online concept store.

Swooning over his style and desperately trying to resist the urge to rush out and stock up on Farrow and Ball’s Off Black, I asked him to tell me more…

Designer Sophie Ashby of Spring and Mercer has created a vision of elegant, urban living at its most desirable in this three bedroom apartment situated in a Georgian building in Covent Garden with views over the piazza.

When VW & BS were invited to redesign this central London flat the brief was to create a flexible living space that could accommodate a variety of functions and be simple in design.

Their starting point was to restore the first floor room, which had previously been divided into a separate kitchen and living room, back to something of its originally intended proportions. This meant that the three tall arched french windows at the front of the property could be fully appreciated and the lovely terrace overlooking the street with its wrought iron railings be brought back into use.

Flowers and foliage add a fresh, summery mood to this all white Stockholm apartment, charmingly styled and photographed by Fantastic Frank.

Built in the Modernist style during the 1950s as part of the post war plan to build housing for ‘the masses’ at a modest cost, this small ex-council flat in Pimlico is the London home of interior designer Rients Bruinsma.

Tucked behind Chiswick Park this Victorian gem has been transformed by interior designers Callender Howorth. The house was completely gutted back to the brick and brought into the 21st century with a sassy, contemporary refurb.

This West Sussex home has just popped up on Light Locations where its rustic style kitchen featuring an unusual tiled splashback caught my eye.

The new issue of 91 magazine is out this week and it includes a look around the 1930s home of Victoria Suffield, owner of Winchester based store The Hambledon. I fell in love with it when I spotted this beautiful wasp waisted bent plywood chair. Designed by Norman Cherner in 1958 it definitely makes my Top 10 classic chairs wish list.

This beautiful and striking home, previously featured in World of Interiors, and belonging to Niki Turner, a theatre and opera designer who also specialises in property design, is currently for sale through Knight Frank.
