Providence Chapel, Wiltshire

This beautiful and striking home, previously featured in World of Interiors, and belonging to Niki Turner, a theatre and opera designer who also specialises in property design, is currently for sale through Knight Frank.

Niki and her family bought the former baptist chapel in Colerne near Bath 10 years ago and worked with architect Jonathan Tuckey to add a tasteful modern extension. I spotted it on Remodelista recently and fell in love with it so much that I contacted Niki to ask if I could share it here on Design Hunter.

The gallery above the open plan kitchen and living area provides a useful office space. The freestanding kitchen was made to Niki’s design.

The black stained cedar extension, voted Grand Designs extension of the year in 2009, is completely hidden from the front of the property. A glass-walled hallway harmoniously unites the original building with the new structure.

The family bathroom has a floor to ceiling window and a door that can be opened onto the garden, allowing alfresco bathing in the summer months.

Original coat hooks provide useful hanging space.

The property is currently for sale through the Bath office of Knight Frank with a guide price of £795,000.
